Why did my Wife cheat? Why did my Huband cheat? This question gets asked all too often. Usually from the party who’s been cheated on trying to understand what drove their partner into an extramarital affair. So much time and energy gets devoted into the seeking of “why”. The unfortunate truth is there is no real answer to that question. There is no definitive reason why your husband or wife cheated. Adultery or simply sex with other people far out dates the modern concept of marriage / relationships in general. Procreation is a fundamental primitive instinct in everyone. Going against nature is never a successful endeavor. Obviously this is a topic that could go to the extreme depths of philosophy, anthropology, sociology, etc… Therefore we certainly won’t be solving its mystery here.
Below are “likely” reasons men and women might cheat. The possibilities significantly differ between the sexes.
Possible Reasons Why Men Cheat:

Opportunity. Men in general aren’t offered sex as often as women are. It is extremely difficult for a testosterone driven creature whose primitive & defining animalistic instinct is to spread his seed therefore ensuring the survival of the species to pass up on a new potential mate. A man is only as faithful as his options. A man who’s day to day is surrounded by women, some of whom with which there might be a mutual attraction and where there is a long enough timeline, will stray.

His wife or Girlfriend at home doesn’t “put out”. Many women in long term relationships have a severely decreased sex drive. This is cause for the man to begin seeking satisfaction elsewhere. Another reason could be she doesn’t perform all the crazy kinky things in the bedroom he wants her to do. Some women will simply not perform oral sex or perform such a lack luster job it actually becomes a turn off. If another woman comes around and loves nothing more than to be pleasuring him orally it will be extremely difficult for him not to stray.

Sometimes it’s not even what his wife or girlfriend won’t do in the bedroom. He simply doesn’t want her to. Some men don’t want their perfect wife / girlfriend to perform those dirty acts he loves so much so as to not ruin his image of her. This may seem twisted but is certainly true in some cases.

Revenge. If his wife or girlfriend cheated on him then sometimes the only way to find any closure on the matter is for him to “our cheat” her.

Some men cheat just for the challenge and excitement of it. The thrill of the hunt. These men require a variety of women. There’s an old saying that goes no matter how hot a woman is there’s a guy that’s tired of sleeping with her.

He doesn’t find his girlfriend or wife attractive anymore. Women in long term relationships tend to let themselves go. People grow lazy over time and she may not dress the same or make herself up anymore. She may have put on weight and lost her figure. It’s no surprise that the “other woman” is usually young & beautiful.

Fallen out of love. Unfortunately sometimes the feelings that were once so strong fizzle out. After a long time in a relationship it can become an extension of him. Separating is too complicated to comprehend so an affair becomes an easy crutch. When divorce is not an option many men just go elsewhere for physical gratification.
Possible Reasons Women Cheat:

Not getting enough sex at home. When life gets too complicated with work, responsibilities, children etc getting enough rest becomes more important in the relationship than sex. Women want to be desired. It goes right to their core. They need to feel reassured, wanted, and beautiful. If they’re husband or partner isn’t giving them that attention and someone else begins to take an interest, no matter how small, this can lead her to stray.

A wild side. Some women have a huntress passion of their own and seek to and their own sexual conquests to their belts. Many things can set this behavior off but it’s usually due to a life change of some kind. A new Job, New friends, New Surgical enhancements, weight loss, etc…

Revenge. A woman scorn who wants to “hurt” her husband or boyfriend for betraying her trust will sometimes seek out an affair or fling. Other times they’ll use it as a chip they plan to cash in later. An advance or flirtation they would have otherwise written off now gets acted upon.

Not enough Intimacy at home. Women crave intimacy and attention from their partner. Not just sex but overall making times for cuddling, talking, “date nights”. If home life becomes too routine and not enough intimacy she may seek it elsewhere.

Bedroom Monotony. If the sex life has become routine and boring an affair adds all the excitement that’s now missing at home for her.

She's planning on leaving. Many women who’ve already decided to leave their husbands or boyfriends both consciously & unconsciously often seek a replacement before they make the actual break or divorce.
